"Isn't consuming natural food good enough? Why do we still have to take supplements?"
Whenever I hear the above statement, it reminds me of after-school tuition classes; will attending school lessons be adequate? Do we still need tuition?
In theory, obtaining nutrients from natural food is always the best approach.
However, in reality, is achieving a balanced diet from natural food possible?
The easiest way for checking is to ask ourselves:
1) What type of food do we consume everyday?
2) What is the nutritional intake in this food?
3) Are any required nutrients not found in this food?
You will notice that our daily meals consist mainly of carbohydrates, protein, and probably excessive salt and lots of sugar. Most essential nutrients are seriously in deficiency!
Due to our lifestyle and eating habits, many of us are deficient in at least one nutrient or another. Dietary supplements are like the after-school tuition classes- they provide supplementary backup support for whichever subjects we are weak at, so as to improve our results!
The main cause of chronic diseases and unhealthy bodies is the long term nutritional deficiency.
The best way to achieve optimal health is through a well-balanced diet and nutrition intake. Only then can our immune systems have the required ingredients to achieve their optimum functionality.
